FOES - Friends of Eastling School
What is FOES?Eastling Primary School has a thriving PTFA - Friends of Eastling School, which organises fundraising events.
Parents can become part of a team and get to know each other whilst raising money throughout the year for their children's educational trips, provision of books and learning resources, sports equipment by putting on social events.
These include Discos, Carve a Pumpkin Competition, Christmas Craft Club, Christmas Shopping afternoon, Wine & Wisdom evening, Decorate an Easter Egg Competition, Easter Egg Hunt, Eastling School Fete and ending the year with our Party on the field (see FOES events listings for 2014).
We also fund an outing for all our year sixes prior to leaving the school.
Our main fundraising event of the year is our school fete held in July, predominantly a country fete with stalls galore, a tea room, BBQ, bar, live music and activities for children. From this and the other events mentioned, FOES have raised funds to purchase a second minibus for the school which enables each full class to experience many educational trips. We also contribute towards the running costs of both minibuses year on year.
Our most recent investment has been purchasing the new play equipment at the front of the school, the pirate galleon, mirrors and a wicker den for the children to use.
We are a registered charity and committee is made up of volunteer parents, guardians, grandparents, friends and associates of the school.
To continue to thrive we need new members to help out at our events. Anyone known to the school can be a part of the Friends of Eastling School Team and if not on the committee then you may want to join our 'Helping Hands' list. New and fresh ideas are always welcome...the committee gathers for an informal meeting usually in a friendly public house every 6 to 8 weeks to plan and organise events.
No qualifications are needed, just a willingness to help and there is no obligation to do more than you want to.
We all lead busy lives but by working together and each of us doing a little, we believe we can achieve a lot. I look forward to meeting you at our fundraising events.
You can contact me in the playground (Cameron's mum) or by email.
